Tina is a graduate of Partners in Policymaking, Partners in Education Advocacy, and has the national certificate "Passport for Advocacy Learning" from the National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems. She attends IEPs with parents, as needed, and provides information and help via email and over the phone.

Who are We?

We are a private, nonprofit, 501c3 organization created in 1985 by a group of parents.  Their children had mental retadation.  They told the school you are going to teach my child, not babysit them.  They understood the need for parents to have a united voice.  Things are better now, we've come a long way, but there is always more to be done. 
 
The original name of the Special Education Parent Association of Broken Arrow was changed in 2001 to just the Special Education Parent Association.  In November of 2002, the name was changed to Involved Effective Parents.  Our bylaws are available upon request.
